Antonio Habas is replaced as Mohun Bagan SG’s new head coach by Jose Molina.
As the next head coach of the Kolkata-based team, Molina will take over for Antonio Lopez Habas, who had won the Indian Super League Shield the previous season.
Jose Francisco Molina has been named head coach of Mohun Bagan Super Giants for the forthcoming Indian Super League (ISL) season, the team announced on Tuesday.
Prior to his resignation, Molina led the now-defunct ATK to the 2016 ISL championship. His most well-known assignment, however, was from 2018 until 2022 when he served as the Spanish Football Federation’s technical director, succeeding Fernando Hierro.
With great pleasure, we announce that Jose Molina, the former Technical Director of the Spain Football Federation, will be our new head coach for the 2019–20 campaign!#JoyMohunBagan#MBSG#WelcomeMolinapic.twitter.com/dlbqomXqAZ
Being a member of the Mohun Bagan Super Giants, a team with a long history, is an honour. In a statement made public by the club, Molina stated, “I hope to bring more success to the club and its fans.”
