Co-creator of some of the biggest hits in film history, including the ground-breaking “Avatar” and the record-breaking “Titanic,” Landau was a longtime partner of director James Cameron. When Landau thought back on their collaboration, he remembered their early days on the 1994 action comedy “True Lies,” which is when he initially felt a strong bond with Cameron.

The film industry was the family business of Jon Landau, who was born in New York on July 23, 1960. Long Day’s Journey Into Night and The Pawnbroker were two of the many important films that his parents, Ely A. and Edie Landau, produced. They were also well-known individuals who owned movie theatres in Manhattan.
