Following performances by Sugababes, Seventeen, PJ Harvey, D-Block Europe, and LCD Soundsystem, the pop sensation made her headline debut on the Pyramid Stage.

The first main act at Glastonbury 2024 was British pop sensation Dua Lipa, who rocked the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm on Friday night, June 28, at 8:00 p.m.

The expansive festival’s several stages will host an eclectic array of performers over the weekend, but organiser Emily Eavis has put an end to any rumours of “big surprises.”

Sugababes’ set on the West Holts stage before Dua Lipa‘s performance drew so large numbers that there were reports of fans passing out during their performance, and security barred additional people from entering in an effort to lessen crowding.

The 28-year-old Dua Lipa sang hits from her repertoire, including “Cold Heart,” a duet with Elton John, “New Rules,” and “Training Season.”

The organisers of Glastonbury announced earlier this week that England’s Euro 2024 round-of-16 match will not be shown during the event.

Glastonbury Festival 2024: Friday night headlining act Dua Lipa takes on the Pyramid Stage

The first headliner of Glastonbury Festival 2024 is pop singer Dua Lipa, who will appear on the Pyramid Stage on Friday night (June 28).

The first song on the British-Albanian singer’s album, Radical Optimism, which was released in May, was “Training Season.”

She performed to an enthusiastic crowd that could be heard belting out the lyrics to her 2018 song One Kiss featuring Calvin Harris and the song that “changed my life,” Be The One.

While the fans assisted the pop star in singing a portion of the song, she stood on the barrier dividing the audience from the stage.

She also brought out surprise guest Kevin Parker from Tame Impala for the headline set, and they sang the band’s song, The Less I Know The Better.

Dua Lipa dismissed Parker’s apparent microphone issues with a giggle.

March’s Brit Award winner for best pop act, Dua Lipa, entertained attendees with a number of her hit songs, such as “Break My Heart” and “Illusion.”

It follows Emily Eavis, the festival’s organiser, stating that the pop diva was “born” to be the festival’s main attraction.

“She’s a proper festivalgoer, she comes every year and… you can really tell whether someone really gets the festival and loves it,” Eavis said in an interview with Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2.

The last time Dua Lipa performed at Glastonbury was in the afternoon under the Woodsies tent in 2017.

Dua Lipa requested that the house lights be put on later in the set so that she could see the audience.
