Model with a plus size After Sara Milliken emerged victorious from the National American Miss pageant during Memorial Day weekend, she caused quite a stir. But the nasty remarks made by internet trolls about her appearance soon eclipsed her achievement.

Sara is unwavering in her resolve as she gets ready for the national finals, which will be held in Florida during Thanksgiving, in spite of the scathing comments.

Sara Milliken: who is she?

Sara has spent the last eight years dreaming about being Miss Alabama. She had tried her hand at the title twice before but had not been successful. This year was her third effort.

At the age of fifteen, driven by a fierce ambition to win, she entered her first National American Miss pageant but placed last.

“At sixteen, I returned as a teenager,” she wrote on Instagram.

I was told by a cruel boy a few days prior to the pageant that I was ‘too unattractive’ to win. I had a burning desire to prove him incorrect, so I entered pageant weekend full of determination. Not even that I placed.I was degraded and bowed my head, believing that my lack of placement meant only one thing. He was accurate. I resolved not to compete ever again. Thus, I didn’t. for a duration of seven years.

“This past weekend, I returned to the NAM stage to prove to myself that I never gave up. This is something I could handle. I was more than the hurtful remarks I had heard.”

Her latest success was the culmination of her perseverance. Sara stated in her Pageant Planet page that she wants to be the first plus-sized NAM Miss Alabama in order to inspire other women to believe that everything is possible if they put their minds to it.
