Why did Pavithra Gowda walk out of the movie ‘Aashiqui 3’?
Director Chandrakala has told about the pains she faced after choosing Pavitra Gowda, the accused in the Renuka Swamy murder case, as the heroine for her film.
Pavitra Gowda, accused A1 in the Renuka Swamy murder case, entered the film industry with the desire to become an actress. Sweet-faced Pavitra Gowda initially acted in a few films, but later took a different path. Appreciating her beauty, she was given a chance in some movies but it is said that Pavitra walked out of the movies due to lack of professionalism. Director Chandrakala, who chose Pavithra as the main heroine of her movie, has relived the incident of working with Pavithra.
Chandrakala has directed a Kannada movie titled ‘Aashiqui 3’ which is a love triangle. The movie had one heroine and two heroes. The role of the heroine is the main character of the movie. Chandrakala chose Pavithra Gowda for the role. ‘I was very happy when I saw Pavitra. She was so cute, I thought, ‘This girl will make a name in Bollywood too’, but Chandrakala said otherwise.
I chose Pavitra as the heroine for the movie ‘Aashiqui 3′. We shopped for the heroine. I gave him the clothes of the brand he mentioned. I also gave him the shoes of the brand mentioned by him. She plays the role of a girl who runs away from her marriage home. So mehndi was also applied by Pavitra who asked. When Pavitra came on the shooting day of the movie, she did not have mehndi on her hands. He had deleted it. Immediately I sent someone to bring artificial mehndi and started shooting. I knew then that he was not focused on cinema and acting,’ said Chandrakala.
‘I told you how the costume will be before the start of the movie. Shorts were all to be worn, a very bubbly character was his. Then Adi was the hero of that movie. We were shooting a scene of that movie in the car. But acting did not come from him, he struggled a lot. When we were shooting in Nagarabhavi, they gave us a lot of trouble for changing clothes. I resisted. Even while doing the scene, he made some squeals. I also decided that I should give this girl a good workshop and teach her acting and only then bring her back,’ recalls Chandrakala.
But the next day, Pavitra Gowda called me. No I am not comfortable. They said that I can’t act. Originally they had other ideas, there would be a caravan. He had imagined that there would be a very large number of staff. But he was upset that there was none. But if they wanted all that, they should have asked earlier, we would have let it happen earlier,’ said Chandrakala.
‘I had bought a lot of clothes for Pavitra, I had bought expensive bridal gifts. In the end I calculated all of it and asked them to return the money spent on it all. After taking some time, Pavitra returned the money. What he left was good for us too. It was enough for us to put them on and shoot for two days. After he left, the film “Good Girl Sisku” was completed, said Chandrakala.
