Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9’s Episode 5 depicts a “love competition” between Bri and Elena as they attempt to win over deckhand Joe.

Bri, on the other hand, is handsy and really wants to get with Joe that night, so she wears a bikini and keeps flirting and signalling to him. Elena, on the other hand, has certain standards and feels that if Joe wants her, he has to treat her like a lady and take her out to dinner.

Ayesha, in the meantime, wagers that they will become involved before she gets into her pyjamas and goes to bed. Joe and Bri start dating after everyone has left, but before things get out of hand, Bri breaks it off and they decide to call it a night.

In the meantime, a romantic triangle is depicted with Gael, her distant, clinging, and immature boyfriend, and encouraging Nathan. The things that her boyfriend Gael is doing are driving her away from him and helping her to see that Nathan would be a better partner than her current one.

Ellie is furious since she too had feelings for Joe, but she believes that Bri went too far and damaged their connection when she confides in her and only tells her half of what happened that night.
