Veteran actress Smriti Biswas dies at the age of 100, had cast a spell on screen for 30 years
Renowned actress Smriti Biswas, who has worked in Hindi, Marathi and Bengali films, has passed away at the age of 100
New Delhi. Veteran actress Smriti Biswas has said goodbye to this world forever at the age of 100. The actress, who has worked with Raj Kapoor, breathed her last on Wednesday night. The death of the actress has been confirmed by the Film Heritage Foundation.
The Film Heritage Foundation shared a post on social media informing that she breathed her last at her Nashik home on Wednesday. The actress was cremated on Thursday as per Christian rituals.
The actress’ charm remained on screen for 30 years.
In her acting career, the veteran actress has worked in many hit films. From the 1930s to the 1960s, Smriti played such characters in many hit films like ‘Nek Dil’, ‘Aparajita’ and ‘Modern Girl’ that people will always remember. The actress has made a significant contribution in her entire film career. News agency Press Trust of India (PTI) also shared this information on Thursday that veteran actress Smriti Biswas is no more in this world.

Smriti started her acting career as a child actress. She has played many brilliant roles in the films of renowned directors like Guru Dutt, V Shantaram, Mrinal Sen, Bimal Roy, BR Chopra and Raj Kapoor. The actress has worked with legendary actors like Dev Anand, Kishore Kumar and Balraj Sahni in many films.
Let us tell you that not only Hindi, the actress had also worked in Marathi and Bengali films. In the year 1930, she entered the world of acting with the Bengali film ‘Sandhya’. Smriti Biswas, a well-known actress of her time, was living in a rented flat in Nashik Road area.
