“Toofan,” Shakib Khan’s Eid film, becomes an unprecedented success both domestically and beyond.
Dhaka, June 29, 2024 Since its debut on Eid-ul-Azha, Shakib Khan’s most recent Eid film, “Toofan,” which was directed by Raihan Rafi, has dominated the box office and gained enormous popularity among viewers both in Bangladesh and abroad. In addition to Bangladeshi actress Nabila and Indian actress Mimi Chakraborty, Shakib Khan plays two roles in the movie. Prominent actors like Chanchal Chowdhury, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Gazi Rakayet, Salahuddin Lovelu, and Gausul Alam Shawon are also part of the cast.
Shakib Khan discussed his career and the prospects for Bangladeshi film in an exclusive conversation with the Indian media portal Indian Express. Shakib Khan maintains his groundedness despite playing a crucial part in the industry and credits his fans’ everlasting support for his achievements.
“I don’t feel like I’m carrying the burden of the movie business or anything else. I am filled with affection for the fans. I will dedicate my life to serving these kind folks. However, I have long dreamed of seeing Bangladeshi cinema all over the world—many years ago. Many individuals initially believed that I was talking about words, which are impractical. However, my dream is now coming true,” Shakib Khan remarked.
“Toofan” gained even more popularity after its June 28 worldwide release. Global praise for Shakib Khan’s films, which include the hugely popular “Priyotoma,” has been immense, and his work has revolutionised Bangladeshi cinema.
“The official worldwide release of our film has begun. The movie ‘Priyotoma’ was a global hit last year. In well-known cities across the globe like New York, Toronto, London, Dublin, Venice, Sydney, Paris, and the Middle East, our market acceptance has grown. We’re going to improve soon,” Shakib continued.
“Toofan” has raised the bar for success and shown how popular and influential Bangladeshi films are becoming worldwide. With such a positive welcome both home and abroad, Bangladeshi film is gradually realising Shakib Khan’s dream of being widely known.
