Unquestionably, great songs have the power to elevate a movie to a memorable cinematic experience. All you have to do is listen to the opening bars of Céline Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ to be taken back to the renowned Titanic film, which starred Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio!
Without Whitney Houston’s song “I Will Always Love You,” try to picture the film Bodyguard. It no longer seems to have that “magical” quality, does it? That is the cinema’s power! Everybody experiences a range of emotions when acting, photography, costumes, and music are combined!

Notting Hill is a romantic comedy film directed by Roger Mitchell and released in 1999. The story revolves around the romance between a British bookseller named William Thacker and a well-known American actress named Anna Scott. Hugh Grant plays William Thacker, while Julia Roberts plays Anna Scott. The two met at William Thacker’s shop while Anna was shopping for a book in London’s Notting Hill neighbourhood. William brings Anna to his flat so she may change clothes after inadvertently spilling orange juice on her. This is how their romance starts. The actress unexpectedly gives him a kiss as she gets ready to leave the house.
He arranges a date with her after they later meet at the hotel where she was staying. The owner of the bookstore was shocked to learn that an unsuccessful man was seeing a highly attractive, talented, and well-known woman!
Over the months, they come to know one another, and at William’s sister’s birthday celebration, Anna receives an invitation. His family and friends were introduced to her, and they were equally shocked that he had a girlfriend after divorcing years prior. But when a tabloid controversy jeopardises their relationship, William learns that dating a star is not always simple.

Notting Hill is a 90s classic due to its ensemble and storyline as well as its swoon-worthy soundtrack, which goes flawlessly with each scene. For its soundtrack, it was nominated for two BAFTAs and took home a Brit Award.
