The interesting thing is that before Raveena, this movie was offered to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the top heroine of that era, Sridevi, but they rejected it.

‘Mohra’ film’s co-screenplay writer Shabbir Boxwala had told in an interview a long time ago how Raveena Tandon got this movie. Very few people would know that the first heroine of ‘Mohra’ was Divya Bharti. She had also shot for a few days with Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty, but then due to her sudden death, the shooting of the film was stopped. After this, the makers again started looking for a new heroine.

The film was offered to Aishwarya-Sridevi

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Shabbir Boxwala said, ‘I saw Aishwarya Rai’s pictures, which I liked. Rajiv (director of Mohra) asked me to talk to her, but Aishwarya refused, because at that time she was preparing for Miss World. Shabbir further said, ‘We also offered the film Mohra to Sridevi, but at that time Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty were not famous. She did not want to work with new actors. Because of this, Sridevi rejected the film.

Raveena Tandon was hesitant to say yes

After this, ‘Mohra’ finally reached Raveena Tandon, but she too was hesitant to say yes to the film, because she had a kissing scene with Akshay Kumar in the song ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’. Shabbir said, ‘Raveena Tandon met Rajiv and she knew that this is a good project. There was a kissing scene in the song Tip Tip Barsa Paani, due to which Raveena was confused. Raveena said that her father would not like it, then Rajiv jokingly said not to show this film to your father. After this Raveena Tandon agreed to work in ‘Mohra’.
