Macheso has celebrated his birthday by releasing his albums in June for the previous few years. As he had stated in early June, he has chosen to push back the launch date to August this year because of the chilly weather.
“The album launch is scheduled for August 2 at the Alex Sports Club in Harare,” announced Tich Makahamadze, the spokesperson for Orchestra Mberikwazvo.
“We will travel to the UK following the album launch, and we will also play a few shows in South Africa before the album launch.”
At the University of South Africa, a thesis was written about Macheso’s music. In “Sungura and Social Identity: Narrating the Postcolonial Zimbabwe through an Analysis of Alick Macheso’s Music,” Vimbai Chamisa’s thesis examined the relationship between social identity and sungura music in postcolonial Zimbabwe.
In anticipation of the album’s release in August, Macheso has been teasing fans with teases of the new songs. In addition, he has been touring the nation, most recently to Kwekwe’s Gulez Garden.
The album’s title and cooperation details are yet unknown. Fans may anticipate sophisticated and energizing songs from the renowned musician, nevertheless.
