Regarding the Superman rumours, what was James Gunn’s statement?
In response to a query from a fan on Threads, Gunn was asked if Superman took place in 2021. The CEO of DC Studios replied, “No,” but that was untrue. In 2023, Gunn asserted, “It has elements of truth (obviously based on things I’ve said in the past).” to a media portal.
“But I wouldn’t characterise the plot in this way, and I wouldn’t refer to Clark as a cub reporter,” he continued. He’s a thirty-year-old investigative journalist. Yes, we do indeed shoot in March. I’m appreciative that our production crew put forth a lot of effort every day to keep things running during the strikes. We were often forced to halt, and we wouldn’t have made it to July 2025 if we had.”
The director of DC Studios also talked about the report that Rachel Brosnahan had a screen test with David Corenswet, the leading man in the future movie. “Today is the first anniversary of David and Rachel’s screen test for Clark and Lois,” said Gunn. It was magical the first time they read aloud together.
“What a wonderful year it’s been with two of the most extraordinary, vibrant, and meticulous actors I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with,” the writer-director of the movie continued. In a little more than a year, [audiences] will get to see them on screen, and I can’t wait.”
Regarding her involvement in the DC Universe movie, what did Rachel Brosnahan say?
The heroine of The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel recently expressed her excitement about playing Lois Lane in the venerable DC films in an interview with an entertainment portal. The actress also stated that she is appreciative of Gunn for including her in his films.
“When the opportunity came on,” stated Brosnahan. From a distance, I’ve always been a huge fan of James Gunn; these characters are still emerging. We haven’t yet begun filming. You’ll get to meet them in their polished form.”
On July11,2025, Superman will be released in theatres.
