After defeating Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, the USA caused quite a stir. Not only did the American cricket team and cricket enthusiasts celebrate this triumph, but Indians took pride in it as well.
because Indian players, not American players, prevailed over Pakistan. Captain Monank Patel is one, and Mumbaikar Saurabh Netravalkar is the other.
Monank Patel and Saurabh Netravalkar, who contributed significantly to America’s triumph, are both of Indian descent. He had to fight hard to pursue a cricket career in India, so he came to America in quest of employment and began playing the game there.
Playing in the 2010 India Under-19 World Cup were Mayank Agarwal, Jaydev Unadkat, KL Rahul, and Saurabh. In addition, he debuted for Mumbai in the Ranji league in 2013. The computer engineer Saurabh came to America for work and settled down. Since he was unable to pursue his cricket career in Mumbai, he moved to America, where he went on to become the captain of the national team.
Monank Patel, the current captain, has a comparable background. Additionally, he represented the Gujarat Under-16 and Under-19 teams. However, after his attempt to join the India Under-19 team was denied, he relocated to New Jersey and chose to pursue a career in hospitality there rather than in cricket.
He subsequently founded Teriyaki Madness, a Chinese eatery, but he returned to cricket after incurring significant losses there as well. Indians living in the area began to fight for American participation in cricket. Their efforts were quickly rewarded.
Cricket was introduced to America as well, and several players of Indian descent were given opportunities. Saurabh and Monank are also a part of it.
