This autumn, an 80s pop icon will do a farewell performance of “Time After Time” in the Lone Star State.
As part of her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour, Grammy Award winner Cyndi Lauper will visit Austin and two other Texas towns in November. While Lauper’s only stop in Central Texas will be in Austin on November 12 at the Moody Centre, her fans can also anticipate seeing her perform on November 12 at American Airlines Arena in Dallas and November 16 at Toyota Centre in Houston. I apologise to San Antonio supporters.
This 23-city farewell tour is Lauper’s first significant run in more than ten years. Special guests who will be disclosed later will join her. The news coincides with Let the Canary Sing, her full-length documentary, which will have its Paramount+ premiere on Tuesday, June 4.
The tour and Lauper’s film, which documents her life as a punk artist, feminist, and supporter of others, will be celebrated with an imprint ceremony at the esteemed TCL Chinese Theatre Hollywood in Los Angeles. Her most recent album, which spans her career and includes timeless hits like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “True Colours,” and “All Through the Night,” was named after the documentary.
Starting on Tuesday, June 4 at 10 a.m., there will be a pre-sale for tickets to Lauper’s tour. The general sale tickets will go on sale at LiveNation.com or Ticketmaster.com on Monday, June 10, at 10 a.m. Vipnation.com is another place where fans can purchase VIP packages, which come with premium seats, a guided backstage tour, a pre-show VIP Lounge, an exclusive tour poster, and more.
