Breaking the Ice: An Inside Look at the NHL’s Live Cloud Production Adventures
AWS’s Andrew Reich and the NHL’s Grant Nodine provide a behind-the-scenes peek.
As the Stanley Cup Final draws rapidly to a close, the Florida Panthers have surged out to a 3-0 series lead. With it, the National Hockey League puts the finishing touches on a season of live-broadcast innovation. The league invested in new cloud-based live-production workflows this year, one of the numerous technical innovations it adopted. The league most recently created a primary broadcast and a backup stream of several regular-season games using the cloud this season.
Andrew Reich, senior industry specialist, BD, media and entertainment, gaming, sports, AWS, and Grant Nodine, SVP, technology, NHL, provide insight into what went well, what was learnt, and what’s coming up in this exclusive presentation.
On May 16, in New York City, the session was held at the 2024 SVG Sports Cloud Production Forum.
