A justice for Darshan in jail, a justice for other prisoners?
Two days a week, a jail inmate can visit his friends and family. Prisoners are also allowed to talk to family members or friends twice a week through video conferencing. But none of this counts for Darshan.
Actor Darshan has been arrested in the Chitradurga Renuka Swamy murder case. While his girlfriend Pavitra Gowda is accused A1, Darshan is accused A2. Besides this, many people have been arrested in this case. Darshan is in Bangalore’s Parappa Agrahara Jail. In the meantime, the question has been raised whether the prison rules have been passed for Darshan. Discussions are going on about this.
Under Section 56 of the Prisons Act 1894, a prisoner can visit friends and family once a week. Under Section 57 of the Prisons Act, 1894, the Superintendent of Jails may allow more frequent visits in special and necessary cases. Under section 58 of the Prisons Act, 1894, a prisoner is allowed to write and receive letters. No one is allowed to visit on holidays.

The question of many is that it is right for the prison authorities to allow Darshan to meet him. Many have questioned why there is one justice for Darshan and one justice for the rest of the prisoners. At present, the action of the prison authorities has created a lot of discussion.
