Duniya Vijay’s First Film as a Director:
“Salaga” is the first movie directed by Vishwa Vijay, also known as Vijay Kumar. He wanted to tell a story about a dark side of Bengaluru, a side he knows well. As a storyteller, he does an excellent job of keeping the audience engaged.
Story:
The movie begins at the Mangaluru ports, hinting at the smuggling of arms into Bengaluru. The story then quickly shifts to Salaga, a feared criminal determined to break a criminal network. His ruthlessness is put to the test when ACP Samrat faces the murders, creating an intense and exciting competition.
How to make a movie:
Running for over two hours, the film is fast paced and avoids the usual tone found in underground dramas. Masti’s writings are sharp and effective without being superficial. work The characters are strong but Charan Raj’s back score adds a subtle balance like ‘Tagaro’ and ‘Popcorn Monkey Tiger’. The editing and camera work are of a high standard and show Vijay’s strong presence in the film. However, the flashback sequences are somewhat cliched and predictable, which contrasts with the balanced tone of the film.
Work hard:
The actors did a great job. Duniya Vijay is in the lead and Dhananjaya is a freshman. Sanjana Anand does a good job as the criminal’s love interest and Vandu Soodi impresses with her entertaining performance as Savitri, which is much appreciated.
“Salaga” is strong, full of violence and darkness, which explains the certificate A. It may not be for everyone, but those who like street stories will appreciate it. The film ends with a thoughtful read that adds a layer of depth to the bloody story.
