“Putting on Bravado” by Kevin Costner in Response to Horizon’s Negative Reviews: “The Sorrow Party Never Ends”
In an attempt to maintain his composure following his failure on Horizon and the rumours of his romance with Jewel, Kevin Costner is currently all over the place. He’s been receiving harsh, to put it mildly, advice from friends to pull himself together and quit moping.
“The joy and the spring have gone out of step; he’s no fun anymore,” a source exclusively tells Life & Style. “He’s acting so brash and making up so many reasons why Hollywood is against him, but he’s turning into everyone’s misery rag, and the sympathy fest never ends.”
Although Kevin received a seven-minute standing ovation during the Horizon: An American Saga premiere at the 77th Annual Cannes Film Festival last month, the Yellowstone actor’s most recent endeavour has drawn harsh criticism.
One of the movie reviews said, “You want a sense of purpose at the same time, and this one sometimes loses its way. It’s fine for an epic to sprawl.” “Nevertheless, it’s elegantly filmed and masterfully executed, evoking the heyday of event-movie horse operas.”
As of the time of publication, the Western movie has a 43% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“After the harsh reviews for the premiere of his film Horizon, he’s licking his wounds and venting to the world.”
The Oscar winner’s departure from Yellowstone during the turbulent last season of the programme has also lately made news. However, he is still full of hope that when the next three films in his Horizon franchise hit theatres in the upcoming years, his fan following will save him.
An insider told Life & Style earlier this month that Kevin “is still holding out hope that the final arbiter of HAASP1 will be the millions of fans who have fueled Yellowstone’s success over the last five years and made that show, for a time, the biggest thing on television.”
According to the insider, “Kevin was warned by marketing execs that he could get hit in the press over this film, and that has happened.Kevin also caused a stir when he claimed Jewel and he never had a romantic relationship, even though the two had been seen cuddling on Richard Branson’s island in November 2023.

Kevin Costner talks about his alleged romance with Jewel: “We never, ever went out.”
Jewel and I are friends, not rivals. On Tuesday, June 18, he said to Howard Stern, “We’ve never gone out.” She is unique, and because our friendship is all we have, I don’t want these rumours to destroy it. To me, she is unique. She is attractive enough for a date.
According to the first source, after divorcing Christine Baumgartner, Kevin has “less time” for romance than ever before.
The insider said, “He’s turned into this aimless wanderer and workaholic, and his friends are already tired of him because of his constant crying of the blues.”
