“I never imagined that I would capture Bhavadarini’s voice in this manner.” Raja Yuvan Shankar Urukkam

I never imagined that I would capture Bhavadarini's voice in this manner. Raja Yuvan Shankar Urukkam

Chennai: “After Bhavatharini recovered from the hospital, I thought I could record the song in her voice.” But we learned of his passing one hour later.Yuvan Shankar Raja, the music director, remarks, “I never imagined using his voice in this way.”

He stated as much on his X site page: “I hold great sentimental value for The Greatest of All Time’s second single. There are no words to express this emotion. My sister singing this song would be ideal, Venkat Prabhu and I thought when we wrote it in Bengaluru. After he got better from the hospital, I figured I could record the song in his voice.

However, we learned that he had died an hour later. I never imagined using his voice in this way. My sincere gratitude to my band and all those who helped make this happen. It’s an ineffable moment,” he remarked.

The second track from Vijay’s film “The Code,” “Chinna Chinna Kannis,” is now available. Remarkably, ‘AI’ has utilised the voice of the late vocalist Bhavatharini, who was the daughter of music composer Ilayaraja, in this song.
