Season 4 of “The Boys” is Currently Available Online
It’s “The Boys” back in town. This Thursday, June 13, the R-rated superhero series returns to Prime Video for its fourth season. You will need to create an account with Prime Video, which is presently giving a 30-day free trial, in order to access the series and the most recent episodes.
The Emmy-winning drama’s fourth season kicked out with three episodes on Thursday night and will air weekly until the season finale on July 18.
“In Season Four, the world is on the brink,” reads the official synopsis for the upcoming installment. His lies have become tiresome for the rest of the crew. Before it’s too late, they must figure out how to cooperate and preserve the world since the stakes are higher than ever.
There are also new super heroes in this season. Amidst the continuous struggle for Homelander’s son Ryan’s (Cameron Crovetti) soul, Sister Sage (Susan Heyward), Firecracker (Valorie Curry), and new CIA agent Kessler (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) are present. As they try to kill Neuman before the inauguration (as directed by President-elect Singer), Annie (Erin Morarity) separates herself from her Starlight character, and Hughie (Jack Quaid) resolves his relationship with a dying Butcher.
Showrunner Erik Kripke revealed this week that the fifth season will mark the conclusion of the series, ahead of its fourth. Although Kripke had already stated that he intended for the series to be told across at least five seasons, ardent fans may not find the revelation shocking.
Two more projects are currently in development; one is set in Mexico, and the other was recently revealed by Kripke.
Variety TV journalist Alison Herman said that the show “suffers growing pains in its darkest season yet” in her review of the most recent season.
The show, she adds, “became an indictment of an overlapping series of systems and the noxious ideology that underlies them, even though it began primarily as a parody of oppressively dominant superhero franchises.” “Season 4 begins to show the strain of that effort, on the show itself as well as the viewer’s ability to tolerate hopelessness.”
